Richard Widmark just died...he was 93.

if you haven't seen any Richard Widmark movies, you are a messed-up individual and a shabby cinematic citizen. below are some easily-locatable goodies. strongly recommend watching the flicks below in their entirety, as well as madigan (1968), which i have an ominously-soft softSpot for. every Sam Fuller movie with him in it is good, have always wanted to see him in Ida Lupino's road house, and was very bummed to recently miss out on him playing Charles VII in Joan of Arc biopic saint joan. anywaze...you'll die too someday!

Olé Ole Storyface

Katie and I moved to Brooklyn on September 25, 2002.

Three weeks from today — March 24, 2008 — we'll say goodbye to NYC and begin our cross-country drive (with Mo, who joined the family in June ’05) to San Francisco. We haven't found an apartment there, yet. We'll do that next week. We aim to be completely moved to San Francisco and unpacked by April 7.

Now, this afternoon, while Crude Futures is still looking backward (a fitting thing to do as Katie and I pack up our lives), I'm gonna share an up-'n'-downbeat drawing-and-text I made about a year and a half before Steev launched C.F. and invited me and Shower Feelings to join him in immanentizing the eschaton.

I made four "story faces" like the below in '03, then forgot them, then ran across this one on Friday as I wistfully perused (and backed up) some long-neglected file folders. I think we're going to sell our 20" G5 iMac. Are Katie and I ready to be a laptops-only family? We think so. I guess so.

I hope you get a kick out of this.
